The first of the Chamonix ski lifts started the season early with Grands Montets opening for this past weekend 23/24 November. It’s a good sign that the early snow cover is creating a good base for a bumper ski season. Short to longer term forecasts such as on J2Ski are indicating around 1 meter of snow in the coming week alone, with consistent falls over the next fortnight, just in time for the full season opening in mid December! Fingers crossed!
Apartment One Le Savoy still has good availability in December 2019 & January / February 2020 during the best of the snow season! Don’t miss out! Check out our listings on AirBnB or HomeAway to book your family-friendly snow accommodation this season.
Getting lift tickets is straightforward and terrific value. In our opinion, the best pass option is Mont Blanc Unlimited, giving access to up to 10 ski areas in 3 countries – if you are staying in the apartment for more than 3 days, this is the pass for you to consider for optimal enjoyment and exploration!
Not only does the Mont Blanc Unlimited pass give supreme terrain access in the French Chamonix ski areas (including world-famous Grands Montets only minutes from One Le Savoy apartment), but also include Courmeyeur in Italy and Verbier’s 4 Vallées in Switzerland. The Unlimited pass also includes spectacular tourist sights Aiguille du Midi, the Montenvers Mer de Glace, Tramway du Mont Blanc, and Chamonix public swimming pool, ice skating rink and museums access and discounted movie cinema tickets.
There are good discounts available for longer stays, youth and children, and families, and those skiing outside of the peak times, such as pre-Christmas or Spring (Easter).
